Tales from the Spectrum

When you have a kitten (or kittens), it is generally accepted
that you'll be spending a majority of your time trying to keep
them entertained and/or just plain keeping track of them.

Enter an owner who is on the autism spectrum.

This now becomes an adventure in who will have a bigger
problem, the kitten, or the owner.

The kitten wants to be entertained and this usually results in
behavior that has a history of gaining them the attention they
crave.

Screaming at them, closing them into a room away from you,
or any other attempts at human behavioral modification are
a waste of time and only teach the kitten how to get at least
SOME attention.

It is sad and a bit frightening to have to witness this behavior
but that is just another in a long list of things that are part
of living with someone on the spectrum.

Thankfully, the kitten, at least, doesn't understand the outbursts.

Compromised Octoberpest

[begin rant mode]

Certain email accounts with certain email providers
(those beginning with the letter "Y")
have stopped working.
This is irritating because a melange of others using the exact
same service DO function normally.
(I used each of them to send/receive emails between them)

Now, I understand that by keeping an email address for 25+ years
and having its ownership transferred between no fewer than
three other companies during that time might cause some
disruption but it was working two days ago.

*sigh*

and, of course, it would happen to be my MAIN email account.

Not the 7 year itch

Sometimes it's 4. Other times it's 5. Or maybe somewhere between 1
and 3. In any case, I have, once again, regained access to this blog.

Why now? Well, it is, like last time, because my life has changed in
so many ways that I find myself wishing to record some of the
remarkable things that have happened since last we spoke.

Last time we shared was in 2012. Five years later, everything that
you can image COULD change, has:

Got married (2015)
Bought a house (2016)
Retired (2017)
Moved somewhere completely different (2017)
Adopted two cats (2017)
Completed a Spartan Trifecta (2016 & 2017)

There are, of course, thousands of other details between these
events and each other as well as between 2012 and now, but I
find myself getting overloaded with the sheer scale of it.

So, for now, just know that I have missed you and now have plenty
of time in which to regale you with tales of yore, woe and delight.

But that will have to wait ( not too long, I promise! ).
