Tales from the Spectrum

When you have a kitten (or kittens), it is generally accepted
that you'll be spending a majority of your time trying to keep
them entertained and/or just plain keeping track of them.

Enter an owner who is on the autism spectrum.

This now becomes an adventure in who will have a bigger
problem, the kitten, or the owner.

The kitten wants to be entertained and this usually results in
behavior that has a history of gaining them the attention they
crave.

Screaming at them, closing them into a room away from you,
or any other attempts at human behavioral modification are
a waste of time and only teach the kitten how to get at least
SOME attention.

It is sad and a bit frightening to have to witness this behavior
but that is just another in a long list of things that are part
of living with someone on the spectrum.

Thankfully, the kitten, at least, doesn't understand the outbursts.
